Do not buy this laptop ...I recently bought this from reliance digital, within 2 days the battery started to drain and hardly lasts for 3 hours. The support is pathetic. Better go for Mac Air or HP. This is my sincere advise for people who are interested in buying ultra laptops.

Best ultrabook who needs portability, speed, multitasking, touch,Best battery Backup and want to carry anywhere(For students,Business personals,Coders).
You will definitely love the edge-to-edge display.

The only con it has is that you cannot upgrade the RAM in future(onboard, fixed), though you can upgrade the SSD.

For gamers: The only GPU is intel integrated one.(though you can play average and above average Games)
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR HIGH GRAPHICS GAMES.

I recently purchased my Dell XPS 13 Core i7, 256 SSD and 8 GB RAM. Here is my review after having used it for a week.

Dell was my first laptop back in 90’s and then I drifted into HP over the years. Now, I am back with Dell.

I already have a 15" HP and was very happy with the speed, performance and battery life. What I was not pleased with was the size. It is...well 15"and not all that easy to carry around and show presentations in while at various client locations. My work requires me to travel to several cities (sometimes in dusty environments and no power areas too) and I needed a more manageable and yet fast laptop. The Dell XPS 9350 bundles in it a sharp performance, wonderful battery (gives me about 6 hours), beautiful classy premium looks and above all great utility. My use is large documents, PDF files and ppts besides occasional photo and video editing. I would rate myself a normal user of ppt/excel/word/outlook/crome. Only a few times do I watch movies (flights or sometimes just before sleeping). Most of the movies I watch are on blue ray and therefore using external HDD.

First, what is great - obviously the size and the premium feel. They say great things come in small packages. Well this is the one. Core i7, and 256 SSD with touchscreen - makes the whole user experience just amazing. The touch screen is a great plus. The battery life has been above expectations. I have used it for watching movies on a flight, running between meetings, not being able to charge and still having some extra juice after a judicious 2 days on the road. The Dell power companion is also available - like a power bank for a laptop (like we have in mobiles these days). It is 12000 Mah. It is my present understanding that there is no other laptop that can be charged from a power bank. So, that makes this Dell XPS really good (at least from a battery management perspective). I have also charged my laptop with the power companion and it works perfectly fine. The transfer speeds of a 15 GB file are about 6.40 minutes which is at par with my other laptop which has a 16 GB RAM (the Dell XPS has 8 GB RAM). Maybe the earlier machine would need some clean up. The best part is the size - which is at par with my wife's Macbook Air (though I will say her Macbook Air is probably 2-3 mm smaller. What I also like is the XPS adaptor that has come along with it. The wire is a little more than 2 meters. So being in any conference room that has my seat some distance away from a power socket this length is useful. Ditto when attending a large conference gathering. The adaptor that has come is also wonderfully small. There is hardly any warmth (I mean heat generated) at the bottom of the laptop. It is great for working while on lap. The keyboard is backlit and wonderful while working late at night. The screen has a sharp contrast ratio of 1000:1 and two USB 3.00 slots. The speakers use something called a Waves MaxxAudio. Basically the audio sound is very good and easily audible across a 15x15 feet room. The screen is virtually borderless infinity display, thin bezel basically almost edge to edge. I have tried a simple test with regard to booting up. I pressed the boot up button for my HP Core i7 and the XPS Core i7 and the XPS was faster by several seconds. Yes, I concede that there are several other factors at play but this alone was a very impressive boot up (and later shut down). The touch pad gives a nice experience too. The pinching, panning and zooming functions are error free.

What could have been better - Office and Windows comes bundled. Given the price, the default (bundled) software could have been more - I still have to renew subscription for McAfee. There is no finger print scanner for additional security. A lot of laptops are coming with finger print security (even my mobile Sony Xperia Z5 has). These are no longer newer standards. The camera is at the bottom of the screen - thus making it look that one is looking above the camera while talking to someone on video. No free sleeve either. The Dell sleeve is another 4.6k INR and that is a fair bit of price for a sleeve. I have not bought it yet. I have tried to get another sleeve. It has not yet arrived so can't recommend/comment on until I get it. For the sake of completeness of this review, I ordered MoKo 3296750 13.3-inch Laptop Sleeve Bag (Brown) from Amazon. It will take 3-4 weeks before it arrives. The laptop being small enough - certainly needs a sleeve when put in an office bag or a shoulder bag when I am in the field. While I understand Dell has a different toll free number for XPS users, 1800-425-2066 and that is a good thing, however, a sleeve and a power companion should have been made available at a discounted rate (if not free).

All in all a great package for the price and for the features. I have never used any laptop for games as I am not into games. So, I have no idea how to rate laptops on that. However, photo editing and sometimes video editing would be a medium to heavy use since raw images from my SLR camera and editing huge files requires higher processor. I am a happy user on that count. For my work use, PDF files, excelsheets and PPTs this laptop is just perfect. So, would I recommend this machine - yes absolutely - go for it. If battery and extra power is required go ahead and buy with power companion. That gives you an easy 13-14 hours of battery. I had evaluated Apple Macbook and HP Spectre before deciding for this. The Dell support so far has been very good. I have called Dell a couple of times to understand some things and the response has been quick and prompt. I would rate the overall user experience on the machine, the performance, the premium feel, the support and its brand at 5 stars. I would rate it 4 stars on the price. One star less because it could have come with at least a free sleeve and a discounted power companion. By the way Surface (from Microsoft) does have a discounted keyboard, so the practice is not new. I understand that in the US a SSD 1TB and 16 GB RAM version of XPS has been released but it will be sometime before that is available in India. That would be a very high performance machine.

For this review I am not adding photos as there are more and enough all over the net and in other reviews. The color I have is champagne gold.

All things considered, it is total value for money. Go for it.

Dell XPS 13 an ultrabook at its best form ever. Ultrabooks are not meant to have upgradable ram or something but are supposed to be extremely portable and have long battery. This laptop does just the same.
